Rakshita belongs to a poor family. Her parents stay in Rajansiricilla District. Her father works as an agricultural labourer and her mother is a housewife. Her parents came to know about their daughter’s disability when she turned two years. They felt shattered and miserable on learning about her disability. She also has an elder sister aged 11 years who is hearing impaired. She has two younger brothers who attend regular school in their village.
